Thamel Nights - Kathmandu, 2018 is part of Tünde Valiszka’s Dystopian Romanticism™ series, a body of work exploring cinematic urban environments shaped by light, atmosphere and emotional tension. Photographed in the Thamel district of Kathmandu, this image captures a solitary figure moving through a narrow street illuminated by saturated neon signage, evoking a quiet, introspective moment within a dense and unfamiliar city.
The scene is defined by strong colour contrast, deep shadows and diffused light, creating a visual language reminiscent of cyberpunk cinema and Blade Runner-inspired aesthetics.
